How do I check a university is genuine?
Short answer
Match the name character by character against the official list, and ask for the establishing Act or the entitlement letter.
Look-alike names are the oldest problem in Indian admissions. One word different — a different city, "Global" added, "of" swapped for "for" — is a different institution with different standing.
A genuine institution can tell you, without hesitation, which Act it was established under or which university awards its degrees.
Important. Never rely on a screenshot or a PDF someone sends you. Go to the source yourself.
What to check
- Compare the exact spelling with the official website you found independently, not one sent to you.
- Ask which body awards the certificate. Vagueness here is the strongest warning sign there is.
