Is attendance compulsory?
Short answer
For most online programmes, no. Some count participation in live sessions towards internal marks.
Fully asynchronous programmes let you study entirely on your own schedule. Others attach marks to live attendance, which changes the flexibility considerably.
If you are paying a premium for live teaching, attendance is the thing you are paying for.
What to check
- Ask whether any component of the grade depends on attending at a fixed time.
